As the Manager at the Pasadena location, I planned and organized local dog adoption events and created digital advertisements to boost community engagement and drive adoptions. I led volunteer recruitment, designed promotional flyers, and coordinated event logistics. These efforts resulted in the adoption of over 50 dogs during my six-month contract and secured more than $3,500 in in-kind donations.

Additionally, I was given the opportunity to support the organization’s efforts to increase website visibility and adoptions through a contract role as an SEO & Marketing Assistant. I collaborated with the professional marketing agency NextLeft to optimize the organization’s web presence, contributed to blog content creation, and helped implement improvements that enhanced search engine visibility.

This project combined my passion for animal welfare with my skills in digital marketing, event planning, and content creation—demonstrating my ability to work across both creative and strategic areas to support meaningful causes.

Social media marketing results

Within the first month of launching the Amazing Dogs Snapchat account, our videos quickly gained traction, consistently reaching over 1,000 views per post. Simultaneously, our Facebook presence saw rapid success, with videos generating over 11,000 views and driving 1,000+ interactions (likes, comments, shares) in just a few weeks. This early momentum demonstrated strong audience engagement and confirmed the brand’s appeal across multiple platforms.

Making Big Changes

Making Big Changes *

  • Through the strategic use of promotional materials and event marketing, I was able to directly contribute to a significant increase in adoption rates for Amazing Dogs Rescue. Over the span of just two adoption events, the number of successful adoptions doubled—from 5 adoptions to 10 adoptions.

    This success was achieved through:

    • The creation of eye-catching posters that clearly communicated the event’s mission and featured adoptable dogs.

    • Consistent social media promotion across platforms like Facebook, Eventbrite, and Nextdoor, driving increased visibility and awareness.

    • Targeted design choices that resonated with the local community, creating a sense of urgency and excitement around the event.

These efforts not only helped boost adoptions but also strengthened the organization’s brand presence and reputation within the Pasadena community.

  • In addition to boosting adoption rates, I focused on growing Amazing Dogs Rescue’s online presence, particularly through Facebook. By strategically promoting events across local Facebook groups and sharing engaging posts, I successfully built a strong support following.

In just a short period, these efforts resulted in:

    • Thousands of views across various posts, helping to expand the reach of the organization beyond its immediate followers.

    • Hundreds of engagements, including likes, comments, and shares, indicating strong community interest and interaction.

    • Increased visibility of the rescue’s events, adoption stories, and calls to action, driving more attention to the cause and encouraging people to get involved.

This online engagement not only contributed to increased attendance at adoption events but also helped establish Amazing Dogs Rescue as a trusted and active organization within the local community.

  • My ultimate goal throughout the promotional efforts was to create a sustainable cycle of support for Amazing Dogs Rescue—driving not only adoptions but also fosters, volunteers, and donations. Through effective event marketing and consistent engagement, I aimed to build a community around the rescue that would continue to grow and support its mission.

The key outcomes of this strategy included:

    • More dogs adopted, with the number of successful adoptions increasing across events.

    • More fosters stepping forward to temporarily care for dogs, helping to reduce overcrowding and increase rescue capacity.

    • Stronger volunteer participation, ensuring that the organization had a dedicated team to manage its growing efforts.

One of the most rewarding results was the generous donation of over 100+ bags of dog food from the community, all contributed through just four adoption events. This not only provided much-needed supplies but also showcased the community’s ongoing support for the cause.

Looking ahead, I hope to continue growing this momentum, with future events focused on driving more adoptions, engaging more volunteers, and attracting additional donations to further support the rescue’s mission.
